A mysterious outbreak of brain fever has killed at least 110 children and sparked angry protests in India’s eastern state of Bihar since early June 2019. Doctors have still not pinpointed the cause of the cases of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in the state’s Muzaffarpur district. Officials were investigating a number of causes, including a possible link to lychee fruit.
