#NoFilter tackles the long-standing territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea through the narratives of Filipino fishermen. In April 2019, Chiara Zambrano and her team sail for Kalburo, commonly known as Scarborough Shoal, to document the Filipino fishermen's stories aboard a small wooden fishing boat at the disputed sea. The program listens to their conversations, reflecting how they have learned to live and compromise under the alarming presence of huge Chinese vessels. Filipino fishermen describe how the 'barter system' has become a norm in the area. The program then hears their quiet protest against the controversial actions of China at the sea rightfully declared as part of the Philippines.
