Atucha Nuclear Power Plant starts operating in Buenos Aires 1974

  • hace 5 años
Atucha, province of Buenos Aires: This is the nuclear power plant testimony of a valuable Argentine effort. The atomic batteries are observed through a closed circuit television. These armored doors are part of a rigorous security system that is complemented by permanent and severe controls required by nuclear material. It is not science fiction, it is a reality that makes us proud. Covered by water, the generators produce the energy. From March 20, 1973 to the present the plant has generated more than one billion kilowatt hours using natural uranium. This figure delivered to the interconnected system of Greater Buenos Aires-Litoral represents an economy of 250 thousand tons of oil that would have cost the country more than 25 million dollars.
