Hong Kong protestors push ahead with rally despite suspension of extradition bill

Thousands of people continued to storm the streets of Hong Kong on Sunday,... urging authorities to fully scrap the controversial extradition bill.
Protesters dressed in black and wore white ribbons on their chests,... to honor a man who fell off a building and died on Saturday... while holding banners opposing the bill,... that will allow the extradition of Hong Kong residents to mainland China.
After days of mass protests and street violence,... Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam on Saturday had announced an indefinite delay in passing the bill.
However, activists urged the city's leader to resign,... permanently scrap the bill,... and apologize for the use of excessive force by the police last Wednesday.
Critics say the legislation would undermine the independence of Hong Kong's legal system... and put its citizens and foreign nationals at risk.
