Trump Says He Supports Amendment For American Flag Burning Ban

President Trump tweeted about the American flag on Saturday.
President Trump has called a proposed constitutional amendment banning flag burning a "no brainer!"
"All in for Senator Steve Daines as he proposes an Amendment for a strong BAN on burning our American Flag," he wrote in a Saturday tweet. "A no brainer!"
The Republican senator from Montana issued a press release about the suggested measure on Flag Day.
"Our United States flag is a timeless symbol of liberty that tells the story of America, the story of our enduring pursuit of freedom," the Friday statement noted. "Remembering the sacrifices of all who carried its colors into battle, our nation should always render the flag the honor and dignity it is due."
The release also points out that Daines has tried to push forth a similar initiative in 2017 and 2018.
According to CNN, prior US Supreme Court rulings "protect the act under the First Amendment as a form of free speech."
