Rome, Jun 14 (EFE).- More than 800 towns and villages compete to be officially listed among "the most beautiful in Italy."  So far, 293 have made the grade and are now proud members of this prestigious club that promotes Italy’s hidden treasures.
 
They are small municipalities with rich historical and artistic heritage, and despite being in one of the most visited countries in the world, they are far from the hustle and bustle of tourist.
