Rory Stewart has appealed to other Tory leadership candidates to “serve” with him in order to “beat” Boris Johnson. Earlier the former foreign secretary had secured the highest number of votes in the first ballot to select the Conservative party leader and next prime minister with 114 votes, Stewart just scraped in over the threshold with 19 votes.
