Microsoft Announces Next-Generation Xbox: Project Scarlett Scheduled to launch in 2020, Project
Scarlett's processor will be four times
more powerful than the Xbox One X. It will not only support 8k gaming and
frame rates of up to 120fps, it will also have
ray-tracing and variable refresh rate support. Project Scarlett will also use a SSD as virtual
RAM, meaning a 400% boost in performance
over the current generation of SSD. Phil Spencer, executive vice president of gaming,
hinted at the inclusion of new internet capabilities. Phil Spencer, via BBC Microsoft did not show off what
the device looks like or reveal its price.
