Nancy Pelosi slammed President Trump over the Mexico deal.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed President Trump over his border deal announcement.
"President Trump undermined America's preeminent leadership role in the world by recklessly threatening to impose tariffs on our close friend and neighbor to the south," Pelosi said in a statement. "Threats and temper tantrums are no way to negotiate foreign policy."
Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer took to Twitter and mocked the president.
"This is [a] historic night!" Schumer tweeted Friday evening. "@realDonaldTrump has announced that he has cut a deal to 'greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.' Now that that problem is solved, I'm sure we won't be hearing any more about it in the future."
Trump's announcement came through a series of tweets.
"I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico," Trump wrote. "The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended."
"Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border," Trump continued. "This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States. Details of the agreement will be released shortly by the State Department. Thank you!"
The New York Times notes: "The president's threat that he would levy the potentially crippling tariffs on Mexico grew out of his deepening frustration with the surge of migrants that have been arriving at the border."
