Children in the world live better lives today than 20 years ago

A new report from non-governmental organisation Save the Children says a quarter billion children experience a better childhood now than young people did 20 years ago. In 2000, an estimated 970 million children were robbed of their childhoods due to factors described as “childhood enders”. That number today has been reduced to 690 million – meaning that at least 280 million children are better off today than they would have been two decades ago.
