Paul Mac "Holiday From Me" Interview in Sydney Park

the AU review Editor Larry Heath caught up with Paul Mac in Sydney to talk about his new record, "Holiday From Me" (out Friday, April 10th).

In this exclusive interview, Paul chats about the creative process behind the record, it was "ten years in the making... A lot of it started when I was touring, and was doing the Silverchair stuff with Powderfinger... I was trying to write one piece per town..." Living also played a major part in the creation of this album - "Mainly living... so you have something to write about... You know, having relationships, falling out of relationships, writing about the relationships..."

Paul speaks fondly of the collaborative processes with other artists: "It's just that sort of happy discovery and you meet like-minded souls" and "It's really fun. You just bounce of each other". When prompted about the possibility of touring for the new record, Paul preferred the idea of living in the moment:

"I honestly don't know about touring... Now nobody buys albums so you can't lose money on the tour. We'll see if there's excitement, then maybe there'll be a tour... But I don't really care anymore, I've just got this album here and it's out and ready to share and that's as far as I can think at the moment." Check out the full interview below.
