Muhyiddin: If it were me, I would quit

Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin agrees with veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin that government leaders should voluntarily step down and make way for others if their performances have not been up to par.

"I see it as the personal view of a media professional, although he (Kadir) is a Bersatu member.

"We leave it to the individuals who Kadir meant (to decide on whether to step down). I don't know who he meant.

"If it were me, I would step down," the Bersatu president told the media after attending a programme in Putrajaya on Thursday.

Muhyiddin was responding to Kadir's recent blog post, in which he called on menteris besar, chief ministers and state excos who are still struggling to perform a year after being in power to consider vacating their posts.
