Riding on a massive Modi wave sweeping through most parts of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to return to power as it leads in over 290 seats and the NDA leads in 340+ seats.

BJP made stunning inroads in Trinamool Congress-ruled West Bengal.

In Uttar Pradesh, where the Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party combine had posed a stiff challenge, the NDA is leading in 58 of the 80 seats at stake. The SP-BSP are leading in 21 seats.

The Modi wave seems not only sweeping through the Hindi heartland and Gujarat, as was expected, but also rippled through West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Viju Cherian discusses with Ajoy Bose Resident Commentator, Network18, the reasons why SP-BSP have not been able to perform the way they thought they will.

With BJP also leading with 16 seats in Bihar, it has dealt a blow to the RJD-Congress alliance which so far have bagged 3 seats.

Also, with BJP leading 7/7 seats in Delhi, what does it mean for the Aam Aadmi Party keeping in mind the next 2020 assembly polls in the state.
