China sent 1,000 tons of rice and 162,000 tons of fertilizer to N. Korea in 2018: Data

It has emerged that China provided rice and fertilizer to North Korea last year.
That's amid UN Security Council sanctions that prohibit any large-scale economic assistance to the regime.
According to data from China's customs office,... Beijing provided one-thousand tons of rice to the North,... worth about one million U.S. dollars,... between May and October 2018.
The data also shows China sent 162-thousand tons of fertilizer,... worth more than 55 million dollars.
The shipments of apparently free assistance came shortly after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's visit to China in March last year when he held his first summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
