U.S. Forces Korea has reportedly suggested South Korea relocate the Combined Forces Command to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek... south of Seoul.
Citing a government source, Seoul-based Yonhap News reported today that the USFK preferred the Pyeongtaek base to Seoul's Yongsan compound due to lower housing fees for military personnel and their families.
Lack of communication between the two countries is being cited as one of the main drawbacks to the suggested plan.
Seoul's defense ministry has neither confirmed nor denied the report... saying the relocation plan in question is one of the many options being discussed since last year.
