It's not fair for governments to interfere in religious matters; Mar Joseph Powathil / Deepika News

Both the religion and the state are two different identities and the state shall not interfere with the matters related to religion, says Mar Joseph Powathil - Archbishop emeritus of Changanacherry Arch diocese. He added that it was not a fair thing from the national woman's commission to recommend abolishing confession. Confession is not something which the women alone does but it is something that every christian including the Pope, bishops, priests and every layman observe.
