A pork loin recipe can only get you so far. Learn how to cut up a whole pork loin in this simple how-to video from the Good Housekeeping Cookery team.

1. To carve a boneless loin with crackling that has been scored before cooking, slice along the loin widthways. Slice between the scored crackling, in roughly 1cm (1/2in) thick slices.

2. For a trussed loin, first remove any string or skewers which will get in the way as you carve.

3. Cut the crackling away from the meat by slicing between the loin and the crackling, lifting it off in one piece.

4. Cutting widthways across the loin, carve slices of pork to the desired thickness.

5. Finally, break the crackling into portions.
