Love chocolate cake but can't be bothered to bake? Treat yourself to a delicious no-bake chocolate cake with these easy, step-by-step instructions from the GHI.

We've shared our best chocolate cake recipes with you, now it’s time for our Good Housekeeping Institute Cookery Team to show you how to make a delicious chocolate fridge cake.

1. Put prunes, apricots, stem ginger and brandy, if using, into a mixing bowl and stir to combine ingredients.

2. Put a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Put chocolate and butter into the bowl and allow to melt gently. Once nearly melted, stir to combine and leave to cool slightly.

3. Put broken biscuits into a large mixing bowl, add golden syrup and the melted chocolate. Strain fruit to remove excess liquid, and add fruit to chocolate and biscuits. Stir well to combine ingredients until everything is evenly coated in chocolate.

4. Lightly grease a cake tin and line it with clingfilm, leaving enough excess hanging over the rim to wrap over top of cake. Use a couple of layers if needed. Spoon cake mixture into the tin, making sure mixture is even and smooth on top. Chill for at least 6hr or overnight, then cut into slices.
