FBI Honors Dolly Parton For Relief
Efforts After Tennessee Wild Fires The Dollywood Foundation was recently awarded
the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award
at the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. The award is in recognition of her work
to raise money for victims of the Tennessee
wildfires that ravaged the area in 2016. The wildfires spared her famed Dollywood
theme park, but destroyed thousands of
other structures and killed 14 people. Her foundation created the “My People Fund”
and provided $10,000 to 900 affected families. Although she wasn’t able to attend,
Parton thanked the FBI and her fellow
award recipients in a video message. Dolly Parton,
