The Platters were a successful vocal group with a distinctive sound. Their success included an impressive fourty hit singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1955 and 1967, four of which were number one hits.

One of these was 'He's Mine' which charted at number sixteen and also reached number five on the R&B charts that year.
