Federal Reserve holds interest rates steady at 2.25%-2.50% as U.S. economy grows at solid rate

The U.S. Federal Reserve left its key interest rate unchanged despite renewed calls by President Donald Trump to cut interest rates... noting a recent decline in inflation while the U.S. economy grows at a solid rate.
Fed Chairman Jerome Powell announced Wednesday that the central bank will keep its benchmark rate in a range of two-and-a-quarter to two-and-a-half percent.
The Federal Open Market Committee explained that the labor market is strong, economic activities continue to rise at a solid rate,... while adding there was a slowdown in household spending and business investment in the first quarter.
The Fed has left its interest rate unchanged since March.
