Protestors gather outside London court as media awaits statement from Julian Assange
  • 5 years ago
Protestors and the press gathered outside Southwark Crown Court this afternoon (May 1) after Julian Assange was sentenced to 50 weeks in prison.

The Wikileaks founder was charged with breaching his bail conditions, prompting the sentence.

Assange sought refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy for seven years but his asylum was revoked by the Ecuadorian government and was promptly arrested on April 11.
