What is the Super Bowl?

In 1920 NFL kicked off, but there was not a trace of Super Bowl. Where was it? For all the curious new ones on the gridiron, desiring for answers...let's take a walk, a walk 40 years ahead, where a new rival called American Football League (AFL) would spring up. AFL took the bull by its horn and challenged the supremacy of NFL, they both were different leagues competing for the same things: Best Players, Fan-base, Money, and being 'The Face of Football'. They were mutually exclusive leagues which could not exist together...it was a question of All or Nothing! And in 1966, the owners chose Football by negotiating an agreement to merge the leagues into NFL by 1970. Upon merger, champions from both leagues would play a final all or nothing game called the “AFL-NFL World Championship Game.” Which was long and dull, as such the AFL Kansas City Chief’s owner, Lamar Hunt, proposed using the term “Super Bowl”. Fast forward to now and Super Bowl is one of the most-viewed sporting events in the world, it is telecasted over more than 170 countries in the world. The Super Bowl includes elaborate half-time shows where renowned celebrities like Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga have set the stage on fire... Fueled up by prime-time advertising and full-time entertainment the super bowl has become a legendary symbol of American culture. Americans not only watch but celebrate this unofficial holiday known as 'Super Bowl Sunday', which is generally played every Jan/Feb and hosted by different cities each year.
