Kind-hearted cop gives 'proper burial' to monitor lizard killed by speeding car

This is the touching moment a kind-hearted policeman picked up a monitor lizard that was killed by a car and buried the creature on the roadside.

The officer noticed the lifeless reptile after it was run over on the Dan Chang Highway in Suphan Buri, central Thailand on April 18.

He caringly dug a grave on the side of the road then lifted the carcass and dropped it into the hole for a ''proper burial''.

Liutenant Colonel Theeraset Bodikun said: ''I think that if somebody hits an animal they should stop to check on them. It's not safe to leave them on the road because it could cause another accident.''
