Sunflower that follows every movement of the Sun
  • 5 years ago
Sunflower seed oil is one of the healthiest and lightest cooking mediums in India! People from the north-east of India love eating sunflower seeds, as a snack.

While you don't see the flower in time lapse, actually tracking the sun, in this clip, it does happen through the course of a day!

Not just a flower, Sunflower or Helianthus annuus is grown for the seeds and oil it produces. Sunflowers are a sign of warmth, loyalty and longevity, considered as the happiest of flowers. It dates back to 1000 B.C. It also deeply inspired the famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh well known for his series of Sunflower paintinigs.
In a letter to his brother Theo, Van Gogh wrote: "It is a kind of painting that rather changes in character, and takes on a richness the longer you look at it. Besides, you know, Gauguin likes them extraordinarily. He said to me among other things - 'That...it's...the flower.' You know that the peony is Jeannin's, the hollyhock belongs to Quost, but the sunflower is somewhat my own."
