The Bombay High Court postponed the next hearing of the Kotak Mahindra Bank vs Reserve Bank of India (RBI) case by 9 months to Januay 2020. This has created a peculiar situation where one private bank, that is Kotak Mahindra Bank, is likely to remain in violation of the RBI's bank ownership rules for may be one more year. This, even as other banks like Bandhan Bank, Ujjivan Financial Services and Equitas Holdings have to scamper to comply with promoter ownership rules.
