Murdered journalist Lyra McKee's coffin carried into Belfast’s St Anne’s Cathedral

UK Prime Minister Theresa May, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Ireland president Michael Higgins joined other political leaders in attending McKee's funeral today (April 24).

Ireland Prime Minister Leo Varadkar and DUP leader Arlene Foster also showed up to pay their respects to McKee who was shot dead whilst covering a riot in Londonderry on Thursday (April 18).

A round of applause broke out earlier as McKee's hearse arrived at St Anne's Cathedral, where the funeral service is being held.

Mourners wearing Marvel and Harry Potter themed t-shirts were also seen walking towards St Anne's Cathedral.
