Walgreens Is Raising The Tobacco Buying Age to 21 Years Old Beginning in September this year, Walgreens is making some big changes to their Tobacco policy. The change comes after the FDA issued a warning to Walgreens over the selling of tobacco to those underage. A recent investigation by the agency found that over 20% of store locations had sold products illegally. The FDA then threatened sanctions against Walgreens due to the violations. According to
CNBC, some others are considering similar legislation. A federal bill in the Senate that would increase the age to 21 is also expected to be introduced soon.
