문 대통령, 한국정상으로서 처음으로 우즈벡 의회연설

President Moon Jae-in, currently in Uzbekistan as part of his three-nation swing through Central Asian, gave an address Friday to the Uzbek parliament - the first South Korean leader to do so.
The president is on a mission to boost cooperation with that country on multiple fronts.
For more on this, we have our Shin Se-min traveling with the president on the line for us.
Se-min... quite a historic moment for the president. What were some of his words to the Uzbek parliament?
Right. President Moon Jae-in said the peace on the Korean Peninsula stretches all the way across Central Asia and to the Eurasian region.
Speaking to Uzbekistan's parliamentarians,… the visiting South Korean leader said the lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula is connected with the two countries’ co-prosperity.
He then said that the precedent of Central Asia’s denuclearization is a lesson and an inspiration for his government, which aims to rid the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons.
President Moon, also referring to the inter-Korean railway project,... said he hopes to see South Korea and Uzbekistan linked up through a railway network,… which according to his plan, will stretch from the Korean Peninsula all the way to Russia and to Eurasia.
His exact words were,.. “We as friends and brothers, agreed to enhance our relations.”
And apart from the content of their agreements,… the fact that President Moon became the first South Korean leader to stand before the Uzbek parliament... is itself an indication that bilateral relations have moved to another level.
It sure sounds like a landmark visit, and it does seem to indicate that the two countries' diplomatic relations have been strengthened.
And prior to that address to parliament,… the two leaders held a second summit meeting... tell us more about that.
Among many other things,… one crucial point from their meeting,… was that the presidents of both sides have agreed to upgrade their bilateral relationship to a special strategic partnership,… while promising to expand the horizon for their economic cooperation.
The two have agreed to work together to expand cooperation into high value-added value industries like the health and medical care... and science and technology.
And in a joint press conference following their summit,… President Moon said the two sides will also work to increase their people-to-people exchanges, while also churning out joint business opportunities.
The two have also talked about bringing peace to their respective regions, by working together on both the Korean Peninsula and in Central Asia and Eurasia.
