Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hits east Taiwan, leaving 17 hurt

A magnitude 6-point-1 earthquake struck Taiwan's coastal city of Hualien on Thursday, injuring 17 people.
According to Taiwanese weather authorities,...the quake, which hit at a depth of 19 kilometers, shook the entire island, including its capital Taipei.
Hundreds of people were evacuated from schools and buildings with concrete walls crumbling down.
More than 100 people were killed in an earthquake in the island's south back in 2016,...and a 7-point-6 magnitude quake took more than 2-thousand lives in 1999.
