Oil rig workers rescue dog from waters 220km off Thai coast

A dog was rescued some 220km (135 miles) off the coast in the Gulf of Thailand by oil rig workers who spotted him on April 12, 2019, paddling around their drilling platform. The dog has been named Boonrod, which means “survivor” or “saved one” in Thai. Some reports suggested that the animal may have fallen off a fishing trawler.
