Trump Says He Considered Ivanka For World Bank Because 'She's Very Good With Numbers'

President Trump recently said that he was considering his daughter Ivanka Trump to become the head of the World Bank.

President Trump recently said that he considered his daughter Ivanka Trump for leading the World Bank. He told The Atlantic in an interview published on Friday that he "thought of Ivanka" for the position and commented that "she would've been great at that because she's very good with numbers."  Following the departure of World Bank's previous president, Jim Yong Kim, there was a great deal of speculation that Trump would nominate the first daughter as his replacement, notes Business Insider. The post ultimately went to David Malpass, the Treasury undersecretary for international affairs.  His nomination was met with concern, as he'd criticized the organization for the large amount of influence it held.  The New York Times notes: "But Mr. Malpass has struck a conciliatory tone in recent meetings with dozens of world leaders, an indication that he might not run the bank in lock step with Mr. Trump's wishes."
