SLADE SMASHES GOLD DISC AUCTION

Dave Hill auctions off his personal Gold disc awarded to him for the 1980 Polydor Compilation album Slade Smashes for the Ethiopia Famine Relief Fund at Central TV in Birmingham on 10/11/1984.

3 weeks later on 01/12/1984 at the Central TV studio in Broad St Birmingham, Scottish Slade nut Mark Richards bid against another Scottish Slade fan Steve. The only way to settle who won the gold disc was for Dave "Superyob" Hill to toss a coin.

Mark won, I asked him a few years ago if he'd still got it, he has, he said he'd never part with it and is his most treasured Slade item (and he has loads)

Also on this edition of The Saturday Show was Bob Geldof, head honcho of the Band Aid project.

During the first part of the interview Bonnie Langford has a promo only copy of the excellent Slade bible Feel The Noize written by Chris Charlesworth.

The master tape also features a to camera promo by Nod & Dave which was never broadcast.
