Samsung, LG to release 5G phones in U.S. in May: Industry sources

The first 5G phones manufactured by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will hit the American market in May,... giving them a potentially lucrative headstart on Apple.
According to industry sources, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will make its U.S. debut with Verizon on May 16th.
Earlier this month, the wireless carrier launched its mobile 5G network using a Motorola phone with a clip-on modem.
LG Electronics has partnered with Sprint to launch the V50 ThinQ next month, …following its domestic release on April 19th.
Sprint says it'll launch commercial 5G services in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Kansas City starting in May.
Apple has yet to put forward its plan to launch 5G phones, …with analysts saying it may wait until 2020 or even 2021.
