for Record Store Day 2019 Saturday, April 13,
is Record Store Day. Created in 2008, the day is an annual event
meant to "celebrate the culture of the
independently owned record store." Pearl Jam is serving as this year's Record Store Day Global Ambassador. Carrie Colliton,
co-founder/organizer The list for this year's release of
limited edition vinyl, cassettes and
box sets has been announced. Some of the highlights include: Previously unreleased recordings from
Jeff Buckley, Joe Strummer and Bob Dylan, new music from
Courtney Barnett
and Erykah Badu, a collaboration between
Taylor Hawkins and
surviving members of Queen, and a cover of
"Stairway to Heaven,"
by Mastodon.
