Hundreds of women had to wade through waist-deep water after heavy rain flooded their factory.

The workers at a garment factory fled when monsoon rains since the previous day caused flash flooding in West Java, Indonesia, yesterday (April 8) morning.

The nearby Citarum river burst its banks sending millions of gallons of water into nearby towns.

Hundreds of women fled from their workplace into the street where they had to wade through the torrent.

The filmer Husan Mubarak said: ''This was the situation in Bandung district in the morning. It had been raining for over 24 hours.

''The only traffic on the roads were people trying to get away from the flood.''
