World Scout Foundation holds annual BP Fellowship event in Seoul

Turning to some other stories now,... the world's largest youth leadership training program... was held in the capital of Seoul on Saturday evening.
Aiming to raise leaders of the future,... the gathering emphasized the importance of serving in communities.
Lee Min-sun has this report.
Seoul was chosen by the World Scout Foundation... to hold the annual Baden-Powell Fellowship event for the fourth time.
Some 240 members from 50 countries attended this year's event.
Those who donated 10,000 USD or more for scout activities are eligible to become a BP Fellowship member.
Swedish King Carl XVI (Sixteen) Gustaf, the honorary chairman of the foundation,... emphasized in his speech the role of young people in making changes in the world... and how scout activities can teach them useful and important skills.
Ban Ki-moon, former secretary general of the United Nations,... also said the scout movement gives young people the chance to serve their respective communities.

"Being a scout has taught me many important skills, disciplines, and a sense of responsibility to our society. These experiences have served me well throughout my life especially in the world of diplomacy and particularly while serving as secretary of general at the United Nations."

With the help of these supporters, some 400 scout members spent a day at the scout training center,... learning useful skills through various activities to become valuable members of society in the future.
