Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back after Fox News’ Tucker Carlson called her a “moron.”

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back after Fox News' Tucker Carlson called her a "moron."  "When someone called a fmr Republican Congressman a 'moron' at our televised town hall, I shut it down immediately - bc I believe our policies can win on merit, & can be improved w/ productive discourse," she wrote in a Tuesday tweet. "You know we're winning when the GOP resort to vapid, personal insults."  The town hall she mentioned is the platform Carlson used to launch his attack.  The event was hosted on Friday by MSNBC's Chris Hayes and focused on the proposed Green New Deal.  At one point in the conversation, Ocasio-Cortez balked at the idea that she represents the liberal equivalent of the Tea Party, stating that the right-wing group is grounded in "xenophobia" and "white supremacy."  Carlson said in regard to that comment: "So it's official. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a moron and nasty and more self-righteous than any televangelist who ever preached a sermon on cable access. She's not impressive, she's awful."  The "moron" comment lobbed during the town hall was a response to former Republican Representative Bob Inglis' suggestion that the Green New Deal will have a better chance of making it through Congress if it focuses on climate change alone.  Ocasio-Cortez was quick to note that the insult was "unacceptable."
