Mika Brzezinski recently defended Joe Biden after an allegation against him.

Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's 'Morning Joe,' defended former Vice President Joe Biden against allegations of behaving inappropriately toward former Nevada state assemblywoman Lucy Flores in 2014.  Brzezinski described the situation as a "very extensive and careful conversation that we need to have," then commented, "There's a lot of things I know about Joe Biden– I've known him for a long time — he is extremely affectionate, extremely flirtatious in a completely safe way."
"I am sure that somebody can misconstrue something he's done," she continued. "But as much as I can know what's in anyone's heart, I don't think there is bad intent on his part at all."  Days prior, Flores wrote in an op-ed published by The Cut that she was readying to take the stage at a campaign event when "I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. 'Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?'"  "I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair," Flores also stated. "I was mortified. He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn't process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused."
In response, Biden issued a statement on Sunday.
He noted in part: "I may not recall these moments the same way, and I may be surprised at what I hear. But we have arrived at an important time when women feel they can and should relate their experiences, and men should pay attention. And I will. I will also remain the strongest advocate I can be for the rights of women. I will fight to build on the work I've done in my career to end violence against women and ensure women are treated with the equality they deserve."
