Deep fried ragworm cakes, a popular Vietnamese street food once enjoyed by only the rich
  • 5 years ago
Pho, bun and banh mi are probably the three most well-known dishes to come out of Vietnam. A lesser known dish is cha ruoi, a delicacy available at street stalls, that were once something only the rich could afford. The deep-fried cakes are made from ragworms retrieved from the sea every morning. "The raw creatures may look intimidating at first sight, but when mixed with other ingredients and fried, the flavour of cha ruoi will worm its way into your heart.
