Northern lights dance under a Canadian starry sky

A beautiful lime green aurora flows under the night time starry skies in the Manitoba province of Canada.

The stunning footage was taken on March 16, near the end of the ideal time to spot the northern lights. The best time to see the northern lights in Canada is when the nights are the darkest and the days are the shortest, which is around late December through to March.

According to a news source, the northern lights are a result of charged particles from the sun interacting with the Earth's magnetic field which creates the phenomenon.
