Dogs Will Actually Lie to Get What They Want

Dogs Will Actually Lie to Get What They Want Our furry friends are capableof more than we thought! In 2017, researchers introducedseveral dogs to two people: One always gave the dog atreat when one was available. The other snatched any available treat for themselves and did not share it with the dog. The dogs were trained to recognize and tellthe difference between the two humans. Next, boxes were set up: some held apreferred treat (a sausage), some held a non-preferred food, and some were empty. The dogs then led the humansto whichever box they wanted. Usually, the dogs led thetreat-snatcher to the empty box. This is an example of "tactical deception,"which is pretty rare in animals. So, your fur baby may be manipulating you,but it's just because they're super smart!
