Chinese President Xi Jinping wrapped up his visit to Italy, Monaco and France on March 26, 2019. During his six-day visit, Italy became the first founding EU member state to join China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” and agreed on deals involving two ports that are strategically valuable to China.
