Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati will not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. "Our coaliation is doing good...I can vacate a seat and contest for the Lok Sabha later if I want," Mayawati announced in a press conference. But for the good of the country and the people, I don't want to contest the polls right now, she added.

यूपी की नगीना और अकबरपुर जैसी सीटों पर बीएसपी सुप्रीमो के चुनाव लड़ने के कयासों के बीच मायावती ने ऐलान किया है कि वह आगामी लोकसभा चुनाव नहीं लड़ेंगी. कहा जा रहा है कि सपा और बसपा गठबंधन के बाद चुनावी अभियान के मद्देनजर सभी सीटों पर ध्‍यान देने के मकसद से बसपा सुप्रीमो ने ये फैसला लिया है.
