California Is No Longer Suffering From a Drought The state had been stricken with a
shortage of water for the past seven years. @droughtcenter, via Twitter A drought emergency was
issued in 2014 and was then
lifted three years later. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the current and very wet winter has helped speed up drought recovery. Parts of Los Angeles
even recently saw snow. The agency says under 10% of California is now in an
"abnormally dry" status. 75% is at the "moderate drought"
