Resurrection of a dried plant
  • il y a 5 ans
In Canada, a person pours water on a ball of dried leaves and observes its transformation. In a few hours, the ball opens and gradually the leaves take back their green color. This plant is part of the Selaginella family, native to the Chihuahua Desert, known as the "Resurrection Plant" and "Rock Flower". This plant has the capacity to dispense with water for several years and can lose up to 95% of its water. When conditions are too difficult, the plant engages a survival mechanism. It dries out gradually, the sap recedes leaves that turn brown and fold. Its metabolic functions are reduced to a minimum to enter a state of dormancy.
