Fox News host Jeanine Pirro has suggested that Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar could be an adherent of Sharia law based on her practice of wearing a hijab.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro suggested that Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar could be an adherent of Sharia law based on her practice of wearing a hijab.
Pirro began the commentary on her show Saturday by referencing Omar's comments about Israel which stirred controversy and prompted accusations of anti-Semitism.
The host then said to Democrats: "This is not who your party is. Your party is not anti-Israel, she is. Think about this. She is not getting this anti-Israel sentiment doctrine from the Democrat Party. So if it's not rooted in the party, where is she getting it from? Think about it."
"Omar wears a hijab, which according to the Quran 33:59, tells women to cover so they won't get molested. Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?" Pirro continued.
Days ago, President Trump also criticized Omar.
"Representative Ilhan Omar is again under fire for her terrible comments concerning Israel," Trump tweeted. "Jewish groups have just sent a petition to Speaker Pelosi asking her to remove Omar from Foreign Relations Committee. A dark day for Israel!"
His tweet came after the Democratic freshman from Minnesota said at an event: "I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK to push for allegiance to a foreign country."
In the wake of criticism, Omar continues to defend herself on Twitter.
"I am told everyday that I am anti-American if I am not pro-Israel. I find that to be problematic and I am not alone," she wrote in a recent tweet. "I just happen to be willing to speak up on it and open myself to attacks."
