President Trump on Friday went after his former attorney general Jeff Sessions on Twitter.
Commenting on a tweet which claimed that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe investigated Sessions, Trump wrote: "Sessions didn't have a clue!"
In another tweet last month, Trump had referred to Sessions as "another beauty."
Sessions resigned in November at Trump's request, "ending the tenure of a beleaguered loyalist whose relationship with the president was ruined when Sessions recused himself from control of the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign," the Washington Post reports.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his displeasure at Sessions' decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation. "Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldn't have done or he should have told me," Trump said in an interview with "Fox & Friends" last year. "He took the job and then said, 'I'm going to recuse myself.' I said, 'what kind of a man is this?' He was on the campaign. He knows there was no collusion."
