Scott Gottlieb Resigns An official with the Food and
Drug Administration said that
Gottlieb is resigning in order to
spend more time with his family. President Donald Trump
reportedly thinks highly
of the physician and does
not want him to leave. Alex Azar, HHS, via 'The Washington Post' Gottlieb has
focused the FDA's
efforts on the
opioid epidemic and teen vaping. Gottlieb's plan to curb
underage vaping would restrict
the sale of flavored e-cigarettes. The plan is expected to be
approved by the White House
even in Gottlieb's absence. The millionaire venture capitalist
and cancer survivor's resignation
is effective in about a month.
