Wall Street's 'Fearless Girl' Statue Brought to London In honor of International Women’s Day, a replica of
the “Fearless Girl” statue has been installed in London. The statute is in Paternoster Square,
right next to the London Stock Exchange. State Street, a U.S. bank and financial
services company, is responsible for
the original installation and the replica. The statue is meant to highlight State Street’s
campaign to include more women in management. The company announced they would vote down
entire boards if they have no female nominees
and had not engaged in the campaign by 2020. State Street is the world’s third largest
asset manager, with over $2.5 trillion in assets. Of the 1,265 companies they identified as having
no women on their boards, 423 have added at least
one female director in the last year. Catherine McGuinness, chair of the
policy and resources committee at the
City of London Corporation, believes the
“Fearless Girl” is a beneficial addition. Catherine McGuinness, via Yahoo
